How Can Ductless Heating Benefit Me?

There are a lot of different ways in which you may choose to heat your home. Chances are that you’ve already gotten any necessary heating installation out of the way for the year since, well—we’re already well into the heating season! Whether you’ve just decided that your existing heater won’t cut it, or that heater made the decision for you by breaking down entirely, we’re here to help. Don’t let the weather rush you through your decision, though.

If the time is right for a heating replacement or you’re just thinking ahead to a new heating installation in the spring, then you’ll definitely want to weigh your options carefully. One that is well worth your consideration is the ductless mini split. Ductless heating in Celco, has gotten more and more popular in recent years. If you’re not sure what the benefits of ductless heating are, then this is the post for you! We’re here to outfit your home with a quality system installed the right way.

Why Ditch the Ductwork?

Central HVAC systems like central air conditioners and furnaces are incredibly popular, and for good reason. They are quick and effective, and they can be quite efficient. That doesn’t mean that they are perfect, however. No HVAC system is. They all have their drawbacks, and part of being an informed consumer is deciding which system is perfect for you, not which is perfect in general.

For starters, if you don’t have ductwork installed in your home already, then installing it in an existing property can be a big production. Ductless mini splits avoid that issue entirely. They also eliminate the risk of energy loss via leaky ductwork, and the indoor air quality issues that can come along with it. That is not where the benefits of decentralizing the heat distribution system end, though. Let’s take a closer look at how the system works to consider some more.

How Ductless Mini Splits Actually Work

Ductless heating systems use individual, wall-mounted blowers in order to heat the areas of the home in which they are installed directly. These blowers are controlled independently of one another, meaning that you can maintain different temperatures in different areas very easily. That inherent zone control allows you to live more comfortably while scaling back on energy usage!

The biggest benefit of ductless heating may not have anything to do with the elimination of ductwork itself, though, but rather the use of heat pump technology. These systems can both heat and cool homes because they use this method of climate control. In the winter, they evaporate refrigerant in the outdoor coil housed by the outdoor unit. That allows them to remove heat from the air outside.

That refrigerant is compressed, boosting its thermal energy, and is then condensed in the house in order to release the heat and warm the house. This method of heat transfer is much more efficient than creating new heat. And, in the summer, the refrigerant cycle is reversed to cool your home as well!
